Content is king. That's right it's an old saying but still true..

To have a successfull website you need good quality content.
First of all you should make a website about a topic that you know much about and that you like writting about.
This is essential in order to deliver good content.

Write articles and post important information on your website.
The better the content the more visitors you will get and the better your standing will be at the search engines.

Google likes good content website and always prefers such websites compared to others.

So this is my method to generate website traffic.

Yes..i agree with you...writing article to attract people or targeted traffic to your website and also of getting links to your website from the article directories after you submit them to article directories.

Yep, I totally agree. I probably spend 90% on content generation and 10% on marketing and SEO.

I fully admit that I suck when it comes to SEO and marketing, but I still manage to keep my head above water because all my websites offer a lot of good content. Good content will bring people back.
