I am quite new to this and need some advise. I have recently purchased several PLR products which need some editing. Is there a cheaper alternative to Photoshop which will enable me to edit text in the PSD and image folders of my product> Your assistance is greatly appreciated. cmls1945:
Firstly thank you for your response. Does Gimp allow me to edit the text in the graphics pages like headers, ebook covers, and button pages? I had to significantly edit the text of my ebook and as a result have had to change the title of the product not realizing this would cause me to have to change all of the associated pages. So much for the quick road to profits!!!!!!!!!! cmls1945
I believe that depends on a couple things. 1. you have to have the same font installed on your system that was originally used in the psd, and 2. The text must not have been rasterized. If either of the above is true, I don't know of any program that will allow you to edit the text. However, you should still have the option of replacing the rasterized text as long as it's on a separate layer. Even then there are other ways, such as erasing, then creating a new text layer, etc. The amount of work involved would depend on how much text there is to edit or replace.
I would use Gimp, and as long as you have the PSD files and the text is on a layer that is not locked you can change it to whatever you want, there are many videos on YouTube that explain how to use Gimp, you can also look up Gimp on Google to get its download page, I would post a link to Gimp but I think that is not legal to do on this forum?
It is legal to post links to things that are genuine and that would help. Use Gimp. It's almost as good as photoshop, and as long as the layers aren't locked - you should be able to do just about anything.
Ok here is the link to the installer that you may need to download Gimp and on this page is a link to Gimp free download. Add www. in front of this URL gimp-win.sourceforge.net/index.html Sorry can't post real link, not enough posts yet?
