Using website name as username in forums?

    Hello,

I was thinking of joining forums related to my website niche and use the website.com as username.

How much do you think it will effect in promotion?

Obviously gonna make few posts daily so other visitors/members can see username and few of them will want to know/visit site.

Is it effective way to promote or visitors/members don't give much attention to it?

    Thanks

it may work provided you make exceptionally good posts.

it's the same as with signatures.

I am always curious to know more about knowledgeable members..;).

    otherwise, I usually ignore signatures.

As far as the .com domains some forums frown on it as do the members. Many think it is another form of spam or secondary signature. As long as you do the regular forum posts odds are it will be fine but if all your posts are promoting the site there will be micro mods complaining just to complain.

Any time you can get your .com in front of people it COULD produce more traffic BUT doesn't always mean conversions will happen. Any extra traffic is a worthwhile effort BUT check the tos of the forums and make sure having a domain username is allowed or not.

Many people do that way, I don't think the forum admin would have any problem.
