Someone asked me this question and I answered to the best of my ability, but to you all, what is link baiting?
Creating a web page that is so interesting and useful that visitors to this page want to share its contents with others by putting a link on their website(s) or bookmarking it for others to see. If a page encourages visitors to do this then it could be considered decent "link bait".
I think it's simple as baiting or capturing your viewer's attention to link to you. A common example is by having unique, useful and quality content in your site. You give webmasters reason to link to you because of the useful information you are posting in your site.
Just a matter of creating great content that is link worthy. If you have content that others find interesting or useful they will tend to share it.
For me linkbuilding is another way of promoting site on the net which you will gathered quality link to your site.
