    SEO Tips & Tricks
SEO means “Search Engine Optimization.” The better your SEO the higher rankings you will have on large search engines like google or yahoo.

If Google or Yahoo crawl your site and you are on the first page of either search engine, then you can get MASSIVE amount of hits to your site. Most people unless they have time and / or are desperate, usually look through the first 3 pages of a google or yahoo search results page. So, if you are link #1 or even on the first page, you can get a large amount of hits, more than any others on the second or third page and certainly more hits than those in the higher pages.

In this guide, I will give you some tips and try my best to educate you to building your site in an SEO friendly way that will get you a lot of hits!

    Tip #1 – Be Bold!
Using Bold tags to define keywords in your website can initially get you ranked higher in the search engines, but don’t over use them and make a website look ugly by using them to much.

    Tip #2 – Link Exchanges
Get as many websites as you can to link to your website, especially if they are high PR websites. If they are on the first 5 pages of a search engine, then they will be popular.
Link with those guys and you can get your website ranked better.

    Tip #3 – Meta Tags
When coding your website, use Meta tags. Meta tags like description and most importantly keywords. Keywords and your site content is what the search engines go for. Your keywords define if a website sinks or floats.
You can get a quick tutorial on Meta Tags at:
    Code:
    HTML Tutorial - Meta

    Tip #4 – Title
Give your site a title using the html tags. That helps provide search engines with more information, you can also include the page name in the title tag for example, on Blue Dragon Designs I could use “Blue Dragon Designs – SEO Tips & Tricks.” That gives search engines more to work with and improve my rankings.

Tip #5 – Validate Your Code
Another thing when coding a website, validate your HTML using the HTML Validator at w3. You can check it here:
    Code:
    The W3C Markup Validation Service
Validate your code, and keep it clean, makes it easier for Search Engines to Index your site.

    Tip #6 – Site Maps
I was hoping to keep it at only 5 tips but this one is just too important.
On large sites a site map is VERY important. Site maps are basically an index of all the pages on your website. If you have one of these then search engines can easily index your website and the site map will help your rankings.

That is all the tips I have for today, I hope they help and I hope you enjoyed this article.
    Thanks and good luck,

What can happen if you do not submit your site correctly?

When you submit your website to search engines, you invite search engine spiders to visit your web pages. That does not mean that your website will get high search engine rankings.

If you did not optimize your web pages, it's pointless to submit your website to search engines. You won't get high rankings if your web pages are not search engine ready.

If you don't use your own domain name or if your website is hosted by an unreliable web host then it is likely that your website will not be listed on search engines. If the submitted website URL is only a redirection or a welcome page then it's also likely that search engines won't index your website.

    hope it help.
    thanks.

Good info but I would add:

High quality and relevant backlinks are key, here's some ways to get them.
    linkbaits
    pillar posts
    social bookmarking
    blog commenting
    sigs in forums
    article directories
    feeds
    pinging
    press releases
guest posts on other relevant blogs
    social media marketing
    interlinking
write high quality, original and helpful content

    I hope that helps.....
