Receive big funds to my PayPal

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by Penicillin, Dec 1, 2009.

    Hello
I have a US-verified-personal PayPal account, not new and not very old.
If someone sends me, let's $5,000 one time, will be there any problems, will my account be limited?

    Thanks

Unlimited, because it's verified and linked to a card.

It also depends who is sending you the money (are they verified/unverified?) and from where. I've had PayPal hold a couple of large payments to me for 24 hours while they verify the transaction.

    I've also had this...

Your best bet if you are still worried is to ring paypal and let them know a bit more about the transaction taking place...

They should be able to make sure it goes through straight away!

No worry at all if payment sender is genuine and you are able to show them certain documents related to that transfer if they ask by any chance.

    DON.

Well I don't think there should be any problem with the transaction until unless you both are genuine and that transaction is done with in the toss of PayPal. Be ready with your documents to show to PayPal if they raised their eyebrows otherwise that can be real pain for you.

They'll have to verify the transaction first. That's for sure. With amount that big, why not use other methods instead? Just a thought.

The first transaction involving huge sum of money is bound to raise a red flag at Paypal's end but if you are able to satisfactorily convince them of the genuineness of the same with supporting documents, rest all deals of similar kind would pass through easily without a hitch!

It is always the first transaction that creates a bit of stir!

Use wire transfer, that would be the best for huge transaction to minimize fees

if fees dont matter to u then use Escrow

Yes this would be safer. Paypal can limit your account for any(no) reason and hold the funds for 180 days.

Paypal are too expensive to use for such an amount.

They will probably freeze your account while they "verify" the source. (Don't hold your breath - 6 to 8 months is usual).

If you do do this - withdraw the funds IMMEDIATELY. They only freeze accounts with money in. Get the money out before they notice it and they will ignore it.

    Read this site: Paypal Sux

My bet is they freeze your account instantly. Use a wire transfer and save yourself 4%.
