Please be very critical. I did this as a favor to a friend so I made nothing but I learned many things about building websites and Joomla.

If the link is broken, let me know. I will be moving the site soon.

    Thanks!

it's a good site though very simple... the most important thing is providing the important information visitors need. i think the intention of putting up this sight has been achieved... good work...

I love the site too bad I am not mastering Jumola yet CSS and XHTML myself. I dumped Front Page last year and went to handcoding with notepad. You do use some coding I haven't used like object classid, param & span.

There is a great deal of debate over using the old table tags, although I haven't found a good reason for not using them. I did some research on tables one day, the main reason, being that we should use CSS to create tables and dump the old table tags. I saw some comments that using the old table tags would slow down a page when it loads, but haven't found that to be the case.

If that's really your first effort, I have to say it's a great page. Very simple design but has good colour use to catch the eye.

The only thing I don't like is the way the text is inconsistent throughout the site. Be consistent. It looks more professional over the entire theme.

Well done for a terrific first try though!

    Hi there,

Technically, header, footer, navigation, this site is reasonably sound.

From a design perspective a lot more could be done here to make the site attractive & draw the user's eye to the key content or actions you want them to complete. I'm not sure what you main goals are but if it is to sell services & products the site does not communicate the safety & security of an ecommerce portal like Amazon.com for example. Ways to achieve this include 'Secured by VeriSign' badges, testimonials from happy customers, a more professional main header image.

The text was the first thing I noticed after the header, which I liked.

Your sentences are way too long.

    Try making your paragraphs smaller.

Thanks. I really dislike the editor in joomla. There are not enough options in my opinion. I don't know html well enough to do it that way. :(

I will take your advice and get a new header, badges and testimonials. Thank you!

The sentances were written by the owner, but I will talk to him and see if we can consolidate some.

Thanks all! I appreciate the honest reviews with details.

Logo bad but the website so-so.

in my opinion: try another theme. (There are many more beautiful joomla themes)

I agree. It was sent via acrobat and it's a copy and paste job. It's just there until I can get a designer to create one. ;)

    It's back up now as
    aestfire.com
    Code (markup):
I had stated that I was moving it to its final domain. I was working on it with a subdomain on my host.
