Optimizing title tags (err... title elements) is VERY important. <title> is the most important on-page ranking factor and all other on-page and off-page optimizations should be focused on promoting the keyword phrase(s) from the <title>. I would suggest learning how to perform free keyword analysis first to select targeted keyword phrases with low competition but low to moderate search volume. It's not likely you'll find low competition search phrases with high search volume. It's better to rank on page 1 for a keyword that gets low to moderate volume than to rank on page 5 or 10 for a keyword that gets high search volume (in which case you'll NEVER get traffic). Some targeted traffic is always better than NO traffic. Once you know what keyowrd phrase your page is going to target, simply put it in the <title>. Then work them into the <h1>, <h2>s where possible, the content, and MOST importantly... into the link text used to link to the page from other pages on your site and from URLs on other sites. Don't forget to optimize the meta description for the same phrase(s) in the <title>. While meta description carries little to no weight (Google for instance) in the ranking of your URL, it DOES affect click-thru-rate if you get it to show as the Google snippet.
Make sure you put the important keywords in your page title, and that the keywords occur towards the start of the title. That is the way to optimize title tag.
following things are to be remembered while writing title tag: 1) use as many key phrases as possible 2) make them wisely... all combination's count ... 3) the title must appear human!! 4) don't key word stuff the title ... either focus a general term or a single product/service per page 5) and ofcourse need not to say "keyword research" is important
h use your main keyword in title tag then other in meta tags .Use the keyeords in title tg in foter and header of sites .But remember keyword density should not exceed than 5-6 %
Title is the most important part of optimization, try to insert your main keyword into the title tag at the beginning and then according to priority of keywords
