bad .com or good .net domain

Discussion in 'Google' started by adisolutions, Nov 30, 2009.

    hello all,

i am about to start building a new mini page. it's about a tourist attraction in my city. the bad thing is that city+attraction.com is taken and i could register city+attraction.net

now, is the .net going to make a difference when it comes to SEO? the .com domain is just parked. so, i don't think it would really compete with me since i'm planing on having articles about the attraction and the city.

my concern is just .net part and if google is making any differences between .com and .net when it comes to SEO.

    thanks!

Either one works.. What matters is how you do your SEO to the site, not the domain

as long as your site can attract visitors and has unique content in it, the url domain should not be a problem..

Consider replacing that + with a "plus". An operator in a domain is never a good idea.

Go for the .net. .com is mainly for branding purposes

It depends what you mean by "good". A premium .net will be worth a lot more then a bad .com

You can pickup a mediocre .com for reg fee so in terms of resell value they're not worth much at all.

Ultimately your SEO efforts will work more than .com or .net extension.

Since this is an attraction in your city, try getting a more localized country specific domain. E.g .co.uk, .uk, .us, .in, .co.in etc. You will do better in localized SERP's

There is no difference in .net or .com in terms of seo.

Many people use Ctrl + Enter to reach .com domain :) (They don't know about Shift + Enter)

I see no problems in optimizing a website if you are using .com or .net, both of them are popular so it is ok to use .net in your domain. :D

I think a bad.com would be better. Cuz eventually, everything will depend on how you do your SEO and the traffic.
Most important as always is your content....so yeah.

Both work fine, your backlinks count in SERP, even .info works fine.
