Ezine Articles Premium, is it worth the money?

Can anyone here comment impartially on the intrinsic benefits of shelling out the $100/month for Ezine Articles Premium membership?

I recently ran out of free submissions and the entry level of $100/month seems very steep. Are there other ways to get a reduced membership?

try to look your topic first in the considered ezine website. if you can see that your "niche" is very recurred and seen by people than you can risk paying for traffic, paying is always a risk ppc or ezine or whatever, everything depend on you website, design, content and product quality

Exactly, it is tough to decide when shelling out the dough is worth it. It really depends on your site, your business... and really, your budget.

Does Ezine Articles have a limit on free sumissions now? I wasn't aware of that. I have over 700 articles on Ezine, but I do not have a premium membership.

I would think $100 per month could be better spent in some other method than an article directory. Just my opinion!

If I were you, I would submit your articles to Articles Base and Go Articles. You will get a good deal of traffic from them, and backlinks to your site as well:)

If you write GOOD content you get premium membership for free (Platinum status).

Ah, I thought this might be the case. I recently submitted a batch of articles which took me over my free limit. After these are approved they said they would review my writing for free upgrade. With the sort of tripe I see 'expert' authors putting out, I should make the grade.

Here's what I got directly from the EzineArticles web site:

"Members Are Allowed 10 Initial Article Submissions. If Your Articles Meet Our Quality Standards, You May Qualify To Earn Platinum Status (Allows Unlimited Article Submissions)"

    I think that's plain enough.

i have a platinum account which works just fine for me. sometimes my articles get approved within the same day and sometimes it takes 2 days or so. weekend is a little slow. i dont need any faster service than this so for me premium membership is nothing but a waste of money. but i'm sure it will work well for some. just submit 10 quality articles and apply for upgraded status. if your articles are good and if you can submit the upgrade application with a good note, then you can get upgraded to platinum directly without going through the basic plus stage. see how platinum membership works for you before buying into the premium membership

I have seen mediocre results from GoArticles, no more than a few hundred hits per article whereas some of my Ezine articles have 5000+ views; will give ArticleBase a try, thanks.

Little bit of uncertainty hinges on that "may qualify" - plain, yes, but also uncertain.

I would also spend 100$ elsewhere. Maybe invest more in ppc?

I don't even submit to EzineArticles.com anymore -- they're slow to review (until you're past the basic level), and their ambiguous keyword-related submission guidelines, especially when coupled with an apparently-not-thinking-that-day editor, drove me batty.

As stated, if your articles are up to par, they'll upgrade you to their platinum level. I don't know the difference between platinum and premium, but platinum was fine -- the approval times were usually within a couple of days if I remember correctly. You would be much better off, in my opinion, spending that $100 on some other marketing packages. Maybe even article directory submissions, but not for submission to a single article directory.

As far as alternatives, Article Base is wonderful.

    Pros:

    • Allows 3 in-body promotional links and 3 author bio links (all HTML)
    • Instant approval after x submissions (not sure the threshold, though)
    • Fast Google indexing after approval - consistently a few minutes to an hour after submission for me as of late
    • Articles are syndicated on third-party sites sometimes

    Cons:

    • Nofollow links
    • To take advantage of in-body links, you either have to use their WYSIWYG HTML form, or enter all HTML into their 'source code' section. Most article directories allow mix-and-match html / text, but Article Base does not.

As far as goarticles.com, I don't think that the site is all that good anymore -- it's definitely slipping down in priority for my own submissions. There aren't many directories that can deliver traffic like EzineArticles.com can, and in that regard, goarticles isn't even close to that level. However, I use article marketing for the SEO benefit, so my definition of article directory value likely differs.

Instead of goarticles.com, you might want to consider one or more of these. They do attract search engine traffic, but I'm not sure of the clickthrough rates:

I think that any of these would give you better results than goarticles.com would, even if you're looking for non-seo benefits from your article marketing campaigns.

I have a premium account at ezine and for my marketing purposes it is well worth it. To me the benefit of having your articles published at a specific time makes a huge difference in volume of readers and the amount of url hits I get from the articles.

If you are only writing a few articles a day, it is probably not worth your while but if you are writing 20 - 25 articles a day it is well worth it in my opinion.

Not seen that much profit from Ezine paid or any other paid article directory. It is useless to spend money on them.

Platinum status is not equal to Premium Membership at EzineArticles.
Platinum gives you the right to publish unlimited number of articles.
Premium gives you few premium features such as fast article editorial review, advanced stats and scheduled publishing. If you need them - buy the membership - it's worth it only if you have a lot of articles to publish and can't wait.
