Dropped domain, so PR will disappear on the next update. Site was a parked page a week ago. Because of this no doubt your directory of over 3000 categories and 20000 sites was built using a dump, and likely will get penalized for it.

I could care less about your PR on the next update. But I wouldn't feel right if I didn't warn people that might not be aware of such practices that you are using a dropped domain that did not earn its PR as a directory...and using a mySQL dump to populate it. I've seen this many times before on this forum and it almost always results in zero'ing of the PR on the next update, and sometimes a ban from Google's index.

So why not actually start a new directory on a new domain with actually work done by you to create a category structure and build a catalog of sites? Because what you are doing now will not succeed like you think it will...unless your purpose is something ridiculously scandalous like harvesting emails for spam purposes.

 

hmm you want ppl stop selling dropped domain in this section: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=59 ??? and after the sale they can build any what they like on the domain and go warn ppl in domain section not there.

 

People buying a dropped domain and putting a online shop or a dating site or whatever is one thing. But buying a dropped domain for PR for a directory quite another thing. You are trying to pull a fast one on people.

And you probably think I'm trying to dog you, but I'm being honest in saying that your efforts are going to fail. Had you taken time to learn how to build a proper directory (maybe by asking directory owners here at DP how), you would have realized the folly of your ways.

Let me help you out. Aside from the fact that your directory will likely get it's PR zeroed and be banned from G...other serious problems you may want to address include:

(1) Your submit page takes days to load. Why? Because it has to load a drop-down menu of almost 4000 categories. Get rid of the drop down and use an AJAX menu or force the user to actually go the category page of their choice to submit and disable the menu selection entirely.

(2) You have no submission guidelines at all. Does anything go in this directory? Are you going to auto-approve every piece of crap submitted? Write some guidelines and stick to them.

(3) The dump you used to populate this directory is very, very poor quality. I strongly recommend you get rid of it and start from scratch.

Are you going to allow adult sites? If so, then you need to be diligent in putting them appropriate ADULT categories. Look at the places some of those sites are listed!

(4) Again this dump you used includes site titles and descriptions with grammar and punctuation errors, strange looking error symbols, and sites in almost every language imaginable. Do you speak all these languages? Do you even know what these sites are about? Because there are some strangely placed sites. (Just from me viewing a few pages of this: http://www.polypat.org/index.php?search=a )

(5) No mod rewrite of categories, details pages, etc. Wow. This is really important. People want to be listed at: http://www.polypat.org/Business. No one wants to be listed on pages that look like: http://www.polypat.org/index.php?c=2

(6) Looks like you are using a free template without linking back to the designer: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=221652 Shameless. And, if I was betting man, I would bet that version of phpld 3.3 isn't bought and paid for either.

I could go on for days but you get the idea...I hope. Hopefully you reconsider this directory of yours.
