    Hey,

So I recently made whattotaketocollege.com. As the name implies, it's a list of things that high school seniors may want to take to college. I'm having a hard time promoting it though.

I'm trying on Facebook, but getting fans is easier said than done. I've asked people to invite friends, but IDK if they did because I'm not seeing results. I've also made a twitter account, but I simply can't get followers.

Can you guys give advice? Thanks

I can advice you not to stop at Facebook - except Facebook there are also such famous social networks as Twitter and Digg. Why not to try them in your promotion?

I'm also trying twitter, but the site targets a specific demographic, so it won't do well on digg. Anyone else have any ideas?

Hmm to save you some time in your promoting efforts, I think you should rework the idea. Maybe make an ebook "How To Get Straight A's In College" and make a forced email opt in in order for people to get it, then market them products via email. Or sell the ebook for $50 to $100. I just don't think many people are passionate about finding out what they should take the college, but lots want to get good grades.

Thanks for the idea, but I disagree. I doubt that college students are into ebooks and charging $50 for something called "How to get Straight A's in College" just sounds like a scam to me. The visitors don't need to be passionate about what to take to college, they just need to be interested. And, if they're going to be dorming, chances are they will be interested.

Depends on if it costs money or not.
