Paypal is the most trusted payment website. Their services are also friendly.

Paypal is good for receiving payments. However, if you are the buyer and get ripped off, they will be the last to help. Trust me on this one

Just setup paypal for a new venture, was fairly painless and I am now accepting payments (Visa & Mastercard) on my own site.

It took about 2 weeks to set up and seems to work fine.

Apparently I need to do something else to accept Maestro payments but I'm not worrying about that yet!

    I don't trust them.
Can you trust anyone that can freeze, block, or remove your account for whatever, yes whatever reason they feel like? Ask yourself, can your bank do this? Well PayPal can, and they do it.
From a merchant's point of view, to say that paypal is safe, is complete and utter rubbish. Fighting a charge back through paypal is virtually impossible, where as you have much more control with a normal merchant account.
PayPal has about 3times higher fraud rates than some other online payment processors.
We wouldn't use them, but we are forced too (thanks to eBay Australia).

Yes and no. I'm saying that paypal can be trusted because of the simple fact that it has been in business for many many years and has help me out tremendously. The reason it's "no" is because it is very easy to be scammed or scam someone using paypal.

that's more on who you buy/sell from/to. you can get scammed from anyone. and if you get scammed, you can contact the authorities (unless you have something to hide).

They are connected/owned/own which ever way around it is with/to ebay.

They are more common place than the others.

The question is, can they trust you? :);)

Yes, you can trust PayPal. I am using PayPal to pay panelist-members in my survey-panels in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. It is an easy way to transfer money from one country to another. From January 2010, also my american and Canadian members will be paid via PayPal.

    Only good experience with PayPal

My sister was ripped off by someone using her Paypal account - Paypal did refund it quite quickly. I have heard that they take ages to refund illegally obtained funds but that was a couple of years ago.

I was locked a long time ago, but after calling them I got it all sorted out.
But yeah, I would say they can be trusted.
