Dp emails people that someone else was trying to login to your account ??


can any MOD confirm this ??

Yes this is true. I tried it. You will get an email after 5 failed log-in attempts.

this is what the email says:

Someone has tried to log into your account on Digital Point Forums with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

hope that bastard get catch asap. This is "new" method of scamming here , be careful guys

A new wave of scam... sometimes I wonder how creative this scammer(if only they show it on a right track lol)

 

Smith15, simply open the NEW PRIVATE MESSAGE form (you can do it by clicking on anyone's username in this thread by the left mouse button and choosing SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE TO...) and rewrite your username in the "Recipient Username(s)" part. As you are writing it, DP will show all possible usernames starting with the letters you already wrote.

Can You Mention That Idiot's Ip Address. So I can Tell You Where He Coming From
Also Ask For Admins To Track His IP And Look for any other logins on that IP.

Thanks for all your concern guys but the one that you all should feel sorry to is none other than investawise since he was the one who got scammed. Damn that jokomamaimta!

@lejka - Thanks for the tip. I guess all the other designers should start searching for their impersonator as well over here, especially those with long username like me.

Original jokomamamita and me , both won the contest of this contest holder and I have received my payment. I feel really sorry for contest holder. Admin should ban that user right now, I think that scammer should be kicked out from dp.

 

Scammers will always exist unfortunately. I got scammed with an ebook recently, the guy sold an ebook that he didn't own (it was another member's ebook) and he described it diferrently that it was. So for these 2 reasons I asked for a refund, he said ok and then went offline. After about a week I opened a dispute over at Paypal, he said no, so I escalated the dispute only to receive an INSTANT mail from Paypal saying that they solved the problem and that they can't help me.

I wanted to call them, but it was only 20$ so I didn't do it after all.
