Why people buy from Namecheap when Godaddy offers cheaper domains ?

    Hi,

Am new in the Domains section and I was wondering Why people buy from Namecheap when Godaddy offers cheaper domains ?

    For example :
.info domain in namecheap.com costs $2.98
.info domain in godaddy.com costs $0.89

I use both however I prefer Namecheap for the simple interface, free whois protection and marketplace performance

I prefer namecheap for the fact that as above you get free whois protection, and .com's with voucher codes are only $8.81

Godaddy offers you a good deal to lure you in but nickels and dimes you on renewals as well as services that aren't really needed. I mean they charge you to park your domains. They charge you to bid on their auctions. Also their renewals are a bit pricier than what I have seen around.

I moved from GoDaddy to NameCheap for the reasons that wht evil & Paulie mentioned above. GoDaddy's offer normally meant for first year only. It is not a bad idea if you are one of those who prefer 'disposable domain'; normally used with PPC for optimized cost per click.

I prefer to buy from Namecheap because of the simple to use interface. Godaddy is all cluttered.

Another reason why users might have used Namecheap over Godaddy is that last year they offered a $5.00 transfer to namecheap which is one of the lowest I have ever seen. Now I am in the process of transferring them all out because their renewals are too much. Short lived glory for Namcheap lol

godaddy annoys you while make changes to domain like ns change , contacts update not wortht o waste time with that useless slowish interface. namecheap is cool and u can make desired changes fastly

Actually i also prefer NC than GD.
There are many reasonable reason about this such as NC offer free private whois.

i like this statement, but i think different people will make different decisions, other people around can just offer you some proposals, but the final decision, you did.

Thank you all for the answers , Now I see that all of you prefer namecheap. Well I prefer it too. Godaddy asks for a credit card number even when you're paying through PayPal. They make things complicated. So for now , Namecheap is the best !

Godaddy has a good price for first year but you will pay more after that. Namecheap is easy to use and has good prices all the time.
