Twitter Followers are NOT THAT important at all

I need to tell this as I see it over and over again posted:

Having tons of followers does not guarantee the success you might
looking for. You can make sales on Twitter by have low number twitter followers.

They key is: SENDING OUT MESSAGES that can be found at
search.twitter.com - and using "mentions" that will make people look
up your profile.

Really, if you use auto posting tools like phptweet, hummingbird or TweetUnlimited you are way better then gathering followers like silly
that are untargeted and only make you look important. What is the worth
in having crappy 10,000 people follow you who were never interested what you are promoting?

 

I follow ppl that have common interest - mostly, they follow me in return. Works for me.

 

yes, it's true, it's useless. Nice to have not so small followers but is interested in following you.

You can't say twitter followers are not that important because I am getting a good amount of traffic from twitter. Key success of twitter is related followers. If you have a good amount of related followers than you will definitely get some good traffic...

 

I agree. It's the number of followers interested in your niche that matters.

 

Its because there are too many bots on twitter. Bots following bots. LOL

 

Its basically when you have genuine followers. Then only you get traffic otherwise it doesn't helps much.

I'm new to Social Media and have been using Twitter for a few short months.

I am planning on changing my approach and making 50% of my posts highly related to my local business market in general and 50% highly specific to my little niche business.

Thoughts on this before I start? Advice would be helpful for this entry level social media hack!

 

I completely agree, at one point I had over 13,000 Twitter Followers. It was pointless half them were spam and what not plus I followed all of them back and it did nothing for me. Instead I dropped following everyone and now only follow people that interest me and I feel it is way more effective for traffic rankings.

 

I really don't understand what the main idea on twitter. who can explain, please?

Try out a auto unfollower it will unfollow the people your following that aren't following you back

 

They really are important, but what I think you're trying to say is quality over quantity. It's better to have 2000 followers who are interested in your niche instead of 10,000 random followers

 

I think if you are really being yourself in twitter, recommending / tweeting about the things you are really interested with (Not simply promoting something for profit) you will get decent quality followers!

 

This is the same thing as targeted and non targeted customers. I always follow people who are interestd in my product and are alike.

 

yeah what is your RATIO for following and followers. Most people probably only following you because you follow them and they could care less about you.

 

I agree that the amount of twitter followers is not that important, the amount of related twitter followers important. They are interested in the same topic as you are and they would read your messages.
