    Well i have managed to get a good 100 -150 unique backlinks to my CarCasherDotCom SeoContest entry in this couple of days....

    Now the problem is how long does it take google to register it as a backlink...

    And is there any way to speeden the process... :confused:

    As soon as Google sees the link it probably registeres it. As far as back-link updates, there more like every few months.

    when checking your back links be sure to use Yahoo and MSN as well as Google.

    Yahoo & MSN: link:www.yoursite.com or linkdomain:www.yoursite.com

    Google doesn't show all of your backlinks...For example, MSN show 274 sites linking to my directory and Google shows 6. Try the all-in-one tool at iwebtoo.com. It show PR, link for Google, MSN, and yahoo, alexa ranking etc...

    But for this contest, well the battle is to reign supreme in google.

    What he was trying to say that to check your BL you should better use msn than google. This because google only updates (visible) BL once a 3-4 months.

    It seems like Google have good control over it´s backlinks, they just decided not to show everyone I guess.
