You should provide fresh content to your users everyday and involve yourselg in social media. Because you are targetting a news paper site you will find daily new and interesting content everyday.

 

Absolutely- fresh content is the key.
If your site never changes, where is the incentive for repeat visitors?
They need to expect something different every time they visit.
Having said that, it's a daily grind to keep posting fresh content.

hey smith, you need to do work hard, it's not a easy job 10k visitors , do good SEO and have patience for results.

 

agreed to this. SEO is about numbers but also (mainly) about quality of visitors. Have you done any sort of market research before coming up with this huge number?? Although not impossible but reaching to this height will take huge effort on your part! PPC, SEM, Adwords (paid methods) and then too its not enough (btw there is no such term as enough in seo) you have to do each and everything related to seo, perfect (or near to) on page optimization, off page seo, article submission, link building, link exchanges, social bookmarking, social networking, twitter, facebook, blog etc etc .. in short there should be 100s of unique content ... over flowing ... related to your website.. (content is king rule)

I would suggest that you should look to go on a slow but sure path ... consistency and patience is the key to success in seo
