Sometimes it may take up to 2-3 weeks. So wait for at least 3 weeks.

Try using clipmarks and jumptags. They work well for me.

it takes a week or more, you can just sign up google webmaster tool and submit your sitemap into it, and don't forget to add url in each search engine.

Try to get backlinks to your site, the more backlinks you have the faster google will find it and index it.

yup ryt.. it takes some time .. depends on how frequent Google crawls ur page.. to check when last time Google visited your website... use
site:http://www.mysite.com as a result u will get all the pages listed by Google for ur site... then click "cached" and view on the top most bar "Google last visited this page on x/x/x"

to check that your is indexed or not, just type yourwebsite.com at google, yahoo and bing search.
But working well in bing, sometime showing my site and other site is not although it already ranked well in bing.

    About your question:
"how long should it take to get my site indexed " , some people can make their new site is indexed in minutes or hours.
Me myself usually submit my new site to a free search submitter such as submitexpress:

    http://www.submitexpress.com/?source=google&gclid=CIv90KfXiJ4CFRlSegodC24-qg

    Code (markup):

You can leave some breadcrumbs to your site. In other words - use backlinks on high travelled blogs/sites/forums may help you get indexed faster.

Aside from sitemap, you can do either of the following to help your site get listed on search engines:

    1. Search Engine Submission - submit only once
    2. Build links - back link helps your site get index.
    3. Ping your site

I am still waiting over 3 months to get my entire website indexed eventhough I submitted the site index to google and yahoo.

They are very slow imo. Only 685 out of 1700 pages are indexed right now

    Here is how to Ping

    1. From the desktop, click start
    2. Select Run
    3. In the Run box, type command
    4. Click OK
    5. The DOS window will pop up. At the C:\WINDOWS> prompt type ping www.yourdomainname.com and press enter.
    6. You will see some results pass through the screen.
    7. It will tell you if there were any packets lost in the transfer (0% loss is what you want to see).
    8. It will also tell you the average speed, in milliseconds.
    9. To close the DOS window, type exit at the C:\WINDOWS> prompt and press enter.

    hope it helps :)

Google will usually index your home page after a couple of days after it goes live depending on how it finds your site. The fastest way is to create a sitemap. See Google Webmaster Tools.

Its a good idea to create some backlinks from other sites, directories, blogs, etc. Google can even find your site if you don't have any backlinks.

Its a good idea to never submit your site to the search engines. It's better if they find it on their own.

Getting all the pages from your site indexed can be a bit tricky. The higher your PageRank is the more likely your pages will be indexed.
