Probably I should start drinking more coffee now onwards. Just a small cup kicks you up and out of your couch / bed and now, look what evilpuppy has done! no less, no more.

Hello, you could have collected a few hundred emails if you compiled all these into a nice pdf.
well, thanks for that non pdf "free course".

Well, we all were newbies back in the day (i'm a recent newbie).

The best advice in internet marketing is ... 'use your head'!

yes, the brain is the most important tool we have.

and the willingness to learn and put in the hard work.

forget about 'i'll show you how to make 100.000$ / month with 2 hours of work per week!"

only good vendors with huge lists make that amount of money.

    here, some quick photos!

(first pic, DP allows me only 4 pics, put a 'http://' in front of it)

    seo-dns.com/en/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/seo-process6.jpg

Check those pictures and then google each term you see there from 'anchor text', 'title tag', 'link relevancy' etc....

read 10 articles (from 10 different guys) on each term.

if you're good at seo, you'll make money! :D

of course, you need some good writing skills.

very nice evilpuppy - i really like the diagrams and this thread has so many good valid points. As a newbie myself, we make so many mistakes at the start because we rush into things - thinking if i don't do this now.....
It's about a month or even two months down the road that we realise our mistake. But it is through mistakes that we learn and great threads like these to get us back on the right path!
besides using your head - i think one also needs persistance and patience!

I was lurking on some guru blogs (not johnchow and crappy stuff like that), real link building experts, seo experts, ppc experts... and pffffft! the information OUT THERE IS STAGGERING!

To comprehend affiliate marketing from A to Z.... learning every little secret from keyword research, competition research, onsite seo, offsite seo, link building, web 2.0, video marketing, article marketing, presell techniques, landing pages / squeeze pages secrets..... darn! there's alot of info to digest!

Imagine internet marketing is like a virtual university. You must educate yourself!

And while we're here, read http://www.stevepavlina.com/ = personal development for smart people. It will make you better as a person!

    peace!

A desperate buyers market is always a great place to start. In our market guys are really looking for a way to meet and date women. We make sure we address that and test our messages to make sure we nail it on the head.

So find a desperate buyers market that interests you and go from there. That is where the money is. And hopefully you find one on a sales page that converts.

@evilpuppy - is there a way to track which article converts?
I know that ezine shows you stats with number of clicks.

But I would be interested a clickbank type tracking id type facility so I know which one converts the most.

    Is this possible?

Great summation of the Affiliate promotion process! Thanks to you evil-puppy.

One excellent freebie is to use poMMo for your mailer instead of Awebber. For the penniless noob it works great, as well as those (like me) who are control freaks and want to do it all themselves. Your optins go to a standard mail client like Thunderbird and then you export the addresses to poMMo - it has a ton of great options for mailing, etc.

A great way to manage multiple squeeze pages is to use wordpress as a CMS, with each post being the squeeze page. With the proper mix of plugins and setup it does not look at all like a blog. Great for review sites or combinations. With wordpress you can manage a multitude of niches from a single location (like HardToFindSoftware does). Because each post is both a "squeeze page" and content, it gets indexed - all of your article and web 2.0 properties point to it, using something like cforms allows you all the control you need for optins while a plugin like AFlinker allows you to cloak all of your affiliate links for safety.

There is just no limit to what you can do with Wordpress in the affiliate space!

There's tons of free squeeze pages temples, one can just google it and they will all come up..

I wouldn't use wordpress for several reasons, especially with a shared hosting.

I self host my own wordpress - and frankly it is not a Blog system anymore, but a full-up CMS with all the bells and whistles you would ever need, and far easier to use than an HTML editor. If you learn php it really rocks. For the person who just wants to write the content and move on it is great.

I am a big fan of this thread. so informative and nicely covered. Thanks to evilpuppy and others.Reading all the posts I have understood that sequence should be like this:
    1. Selecting niche
    2. Finding low competition keywords
    3. Creating a squeeze page
    4. Write a main article, get top ranking to google to driving traffic to squeeze page (may be in eza)
    5. Writing other articles (submit to eza, AB and other places) and pointing towards main article
    6. creating email list offering something at squeeze page
    7. after 2/3 newsletter offer that affiliate product silently.

Pl correct me if I am wrong in understanding.

wordpress is definetly a full blow cms now. and can make a site look marvelous in just a short amount of time.

weissbrand you are right it's a lot of time. i'd recommend PPC to find out ifi t work and what keyworks work and then build my organic around that.
