Annoyed With The Wordpress Interface - Way To Change It?

    Hi,

I'm using Wordpress and when I login and go to write a new post or edit a post (using Internet Explorer), the editing window seems a bit buggy or glitchy. When I scroll down it will just jump back up to the top of the window (and the windows pretty tiny anyway so hard to see what I've written without constantly scrolling up/down).

I'm just wondering is there some kind of way of changing the interface to something a little more user-friendly?

    Thanks for any help

First of all, use a web-friendly browser. Dump IE :)

Sorry guys, heres a screenshot: http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/4558/wordpress.jpg

In Firefox I don't think it is as buggy but I just don't like the fact that the post window is quite small so if you are writing a long post/adding pictures etc its hard to view it all without having to constantly scroll up/down...

    Thanks

You can drag the corner of the post editor to your like without the need to scroll up and down.

You can also make the post editor full screen by clicking the little blue box to the right of the spell check icon.
I would have to agree about IE. Once you go FF you will wonder why you have stayed on IE for so long.

I don't get what you mean - you can drag the corner of the post editor - mine doesn't seem clickable/dragable?

Also where is the spell check icon? I'm using Firefox now and it seems to appear the same (but not buggy when scrolling up/down).

Thanks for the help so far

First of all , make sure that you have all the tools displayed.
On the far right of the post editor tools there is a box that looks like color bars, when you hover over it it says (Show/Hide kitchen sink)

The spell check is the box with [ABC] in it. The box to the right of that will make your post editor full screen.

Also, Make sure that you FF is updated to the latest version. If you haven't used it in a while it's possible that you are using an older version.

Sorry I still can't find what you are referring to. I've taken another screenshot which is below, and I think I've got the latest version of Firefox installed...

Seems like you have disable the visual editor.

Inside your Wordpress dashboard, go to Users >> Your Profile.

Make sure you uncheck the Visual Editor checbox beside where 'Disable the visual editor when writing' is displayed.

After updating your user profile, you have an option to choose either Visual editor or HTML editor when writing or editing posts. Choose the Visual editor.

You can only make the textarea bigger when you use visual editor. Right now you are using HTML editor. Follow the steps given by dynashox to enable it :)
