I'm looking for a logo for a food blog/website called Muffin Tin Chef (muffintinchef.com).

Basically, it's a site for recipes and tips showing that by cooking individualized portions of food (like dividing portions into a muffin tin to bake instead of baking one big dish), it helps with portion control and dieting, reduce cooking time, as well as minimizing wasted food and making storage of leftovers easier.

I'm pretty open in terms of color, imagery and style for the logo but should be in the web 2.0 realm. It can be a little playful (as in not corporate looking), but should still be simple and brandable. It should also be crisp and fresh looking in both color and B&W

The blog will be talking about all kinds of foods, not just muffins so i don't want muffins specifically in the logo because i think it gives the wrong idea. But if you can find a way to incorporate a muffin tin (not an easy feat..i know) or something chef-y that would be great.

For the winning logo, there is potential for paid work on the website design, buttons or blog template to go with it. Feel free to post drafts on this thread or pm me and i'll give feedback until the 48hr deadline is up.

Thanks and i look forward to seeing your ideas.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted! Here's some feedback on the first three submissions...

])CoDeN([ - I feel like there is too much going on with the "muffin tin". The different colors in each circle...and the one disjointed corner makes it look unfinished. Also having the MTS (and i believe that S should be a C) is unecessary for this design. I also feel like it wouldn't translate well to B&W because the colors are too close in shade.

Dakouten - I actually really like this design because of it's simplicity and professional look. The only thing i think it's missing is a touch of color. Maybe something in the text or the circle in the background? A color that would stand out (both in the logo and to be used on the website) like maybe a lime green or orange or something but i'll let you pick what you think works best. And perhaps making the muffin tin just a little bit smaller (most muffin tins only have 6 cups...two rows of 3, but i can see that would mess with the symmetry of the logo though if you have the time or inclination that would be interesting to see. but i think just making the 9 cup tin you have just a little smaller would work). But over all i like it a lot.

Haresh - I don't think this would work. It's too disjointed with small parts (the spatula isn't even the same linear style as the chef and fork and knife) to make it brandable. I want people to see the icon and immediately associate it with the name (i.e. you see the swoosh you immediately think Nike). Plus that's the most unhappy looking chef and the whole idea is to get people to LIKE cooking.

    Thanks again for the submissions!

    Hi xhanch
Thanks for entering! I think the graphic over the M should look more identifiable as a chef hat. I'm also a little iffy on the font style, preferring something a little simpler and classic. I also think it stresses the MTC too much. I don't plan to use MTC as an acronym so i'd rather have the text equally sized.

    Thanks for the submission though

    Hi Nidhi1100
I don't think the icons work for what i'm looking for. they are a little too detailed and too stock. I'm looking for an original looking logo that can be branded for the website. Also, while the glow around the text looks okay on the web, it would not reproduce well on paper in black and white and i need that too.

Att Kiara - I like the angle of the muffin tin but i'm not sure i like the gray tail coming off it...i'd prefer having a stand alone icon that works with or without the text and i think having the tail there with the icon alone would look strange. Also, i think i mentioned in my original post that i didn't want to include an actual muffin in the logo. After seeing some of the other designs, i think maybe having a chef hat sort of hanging off the side of the tin would work better, if you feel up to trying that..

Dakouten - another really great design...i like the shape of the chef's hat in the second logo better, but can it be made more white instead of gray and with more defined outlines like the first one, so it will show up when printed on a white background? would it be possible to see the first design with a hat shaped like the second?

xhanch - I think the font of the M and the rest of the text are way too far apart in style. I don't think it flows very well together. One is very bold and thick and the other is very delicate. And i still don't think that the graphiic for the Hat part really looks like a hat. It looks more like a cloud behind the M.
