Bam directory has sitelinks now

Bam directory has sitelinks now in Google searches. It actually has for over a month now.

That makes me happy so i wanted to share it with you guys.

How can only 2 pages were get indexed?

 

So what is the significance of having that and how do I make my directories obtain it?

The significance of it is questionable. Some people (including myself) believe it is a sign of authority and some say its not that big of a deal.

I have only seen sitelinks on quality well established sites.

How can you get it? Work hard and build a good directory and let time pass. This is not something that happens overnight.

 

I think it's more of a case of a site owner wanting to believe that it confers some sort of status on their web site when it has site links.

If you try to understand the reasons for the sitelinks I think you might agree that they don't necessarily signify authority.

They are displayed primarily for navigational searches; when someone searches for a company or web site.

I agree
nothing to do with authority because I have seen sites full of spam with sitelinks
I think its more to do with a high number or quality of backlinks

 

One of my directories (a very old one) got slapped and drop from pr4 to pr0 one day (not in google pr update)

2-3 days after i noticed it has site links. Has site links today too but still PR0.

So penalized but with site links. So i guess its only because the directory is old.

Yes i tend to agree that navigation has something to o with it as well as popular categories that people find during searches may also be a factor.

We have 1 site that has them (niche directory) and the categories listed are high traffic within the directory...

I agree that the sitelinks are for navigation. Why do you think some websites have it and some dont? My guess is the more a website is searched and higher importance ranked, the more likely Google will post sitelinks to better help the searchers.

 

Don't take this the wrong way.

My question is this - how important or authoratative do you believe Bam Directory to be? As compared to other general topic web directories, do you feel it's an authority or of higher importance because a search for its name returns sitelinks?

 

see, i dont think sitelinks have direct correlation with authority such that every authority site has sitelinks and every site that has sitelinks is authority. Not at all.

Its very similar to PageRank. Pagerank itself is not indicative of how well your site ranks, but if you have high pagernak more than likely it means its a well established site.

Sitelinks are the same too. They are one (among many) indicators of a good directory / site that should be considered. Not a blind reason to submit to that directory

There are dozens of directories that have those sitelinks and I was surprized to find just handful of them on your list

I suggested on your blog few of them just to let you know that - every-day I come across many directories with sitelinks.
