I got an article to promote my website but I need some sites to submit it to for free..

Have used a couple of websites but I just want to know which ones do best for you guys.

Are these article directories best if you only include a summary of the post and then link back to the main blog? I have never really understood article directories...

I would suggest that you find a long tail keyword in your niche and search google. find some article directories which ranks for your keyword and submit there.

 

fourpxarticles.com is one of the good article submission site. They are approving the articles immediately(I think it may be auto approval) and they also allowing to add links in the post. The articles posted in the site also very good.

 

ezinearticles.com seems to be the most popular with a high ranking

 

I'd go for Ezinearticles, goarticles, articlealley,searchwarp, articlecity, articledashboard and iSnare. Sometimes, I even use article submission software like SEnuke.
