    Yea if the forum is not similar to whatever niche you are in, it's not worth it to join the particular forum for the link in signature line. If you do use forums for link building, just make sure it's a forum in the same niche.

    Thanks for the link, although I'm not sure how much a PR 1 forum is going to help....if you're a football(err soccer) fan it makes sense to spend some time there.
