I am considering changing web hosting companys and wonder if that would have any effect on my google ranking? I am very happy with our rankings and would not move if it might change it. Thanks
According to my knowledge there won't be any effect until you change some on-page factors. Main thing you should look after for downtime of your hosting server..it also going to effect the rankings..
No won't make any difference in rankings. When you first switch over sometimes the address will go back and forth from the old to the new so I can be good to leave the old files on the old host for 24-48 hours to help with the address change.
I have just changed hosts myself, gone through a pretty significant upgrade. I haven't noticed any changed at all in my page rank (which is non existent at this time anyway), however, my Google Listings are still great, so in all honesty, as long as there is no change in content, and downtime is limited, you should be fine. Best tip I can suggest is to completely mirror the site you are changing over, and allow 72 hours for DNS to propagate. Most users will not even know that the server is changing, and I doubt that this will affect your PR or any listings that you may have.
it will not change your ranking in any way. only time change of host will help you is you you do country specific hosting. for example, if you have a co.uk domain targetting UK visitors, then changing your host from US to UK will help a bit
