same problem: PR jumped from 0 to 3, SERP dropped terrible

If its for the site in your top link the words "original content" or "content is king" come to mind.

Pages of links are not what Google is looking for....

Check what your competitors are doing and then copy it.

On a side note each time I click one of those links it sends me to another sparse page where it says to Buy Tickets but there is no link to buy the tickets...

 

There are several irrelevant sites appear for the keyword that my site dedicated for. These sites are new. One of the web page on number 1 spot (even higher than Microsoft website in ranking) has zero backlinks!

Plus mine is nothing to do with tickets.

 

It is good news from Google after PR and Google links.

 

Does seem to be a little yo-yo like at the moment.

Maybe Google are trying something new out. They usually seem to drop something big just before christmas, not great for the e-tailers!

 

the site i am writing about is http://www.concertvienna.com the ones in my signature are sub-pages. i have enough original content describing the events. about the programme of the opera, i don't really see how i can be original.
the site is still under construction, that's why you can't buy tickets yet.


and my question actually is: why does google give me a PR 3 (before i had PR 0), but doesn't show me in the search results? before i was on page 1 with certain keywords, and i still rank well in yahoo.

if someone has any idea about THAT, i would be very gratefull to read his comments.

 

jUst want to make a note that I am seeing a huge drop again in Google traffic, This started a few hours ago. Looking at the serps they appear to be old serps from over a month ago... Seems Google is doing another Friday tweak.

 

Rankings up and traffic is up for clients and my own sites.

Your site optimization leaves a lot to be desired. Your site is not a site so much as a single page.

There is a ton of style code at the top.

Robots instruction to return every 4 days

Uses a ton of tables with just a ton of unneeded coding. Content is pushed to the bottom of the page.

Your site primary keyword term is discount tires and your sig link is targeting cheap tires. So there is some confusion there.

I see what you are saying. I did not realise the issues were there and just fixed most of them. However I do not see where any of these issues effect the serps. I am looking at the serps that have revirted back to over 30 days ago since this morning and there are a bunch of junk sites showing up again.. I would guess that in the next 24-48 hours that will al change once again. These minor coding issues and image isssues al though there were quite a few of them are not issues that will have much effect on the serps. I appreciate you pointing them out. However the site has been strong since 2003 and has over 80,000 pages, not 1 page as you decribe. Thanks for catching the issues. I have been concentrating on other sites and did not notice these. However when did I ask you to critique my site. I did not...

 

I have to agree that google is all over the place right now, but this typically happens once a year and then everything pans back out again. From what i have seen, there has been alot of sites that look to be cheating the system by buying bulk links and moving up quickly.. however, as we all know, eventually google catches on to these sites and the get weeded out of the top 20 fairly quickly.

As far as seeing other spammy sites....

Not leaving me hanging... I listened as you can see.. You were correct about some errors that I didnot even notice... I do however believe there is mre to what is going on then these few errors.. I guess time will tell.

 

I even changed my sig cheap tires was kinda cheap LOL

 

Boy what a dumb mistake thanks to @Sem-Advance I relised that early in the week I made some changes to my main page using a test copy then published it causing errors. Even though I did not ask for it. You actually made me realise a stupid mistake on you part. Wow I feel like a rookie on this one.. I owe you one my friend..
