SEM-ADVANCE, I've to disagree with you.. Google treats all .TLD the same unless it's a newly assigned filter
Well of course there will always be those who disagree. However Google is very wise in looking at business aspects and they do realize the IRS definition of an Organization - Is most are charitable and fall under 503c of the the way too much US Tax code. Quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.org Google is very smart at being able to differentiate between a commercial business, and one that is more of a community based organization who have a non-profit exception. I believe that there would be a filter applied to a .org trying to compete for Competitive Keyword terms that are of a Commercial nature. So for instance if we do a search for - charity organizations - 7 out of 10 listings returned are .org TLD Where as if we do a search for viagra for example not one .org is returned, not even Wikipedia, and we all know they rank for a great many terms even if they should not. When we under estimate Google's astute business prowess, we fail to make the grade.
I noticed this going on yesterday but seems to have settled back to where it was. I see this going on periodically for the past few weeks.
Does not seems to be logical. I don't think the robots are checking for the site's .org if its really and organization. What if it was from a another country? Also to OP, I don't see any changes for my site's majort update
What I have noticed is that the serps that popped up yesterday were indeed an identical match to the caffeine data center. They have been popping in and out for the last few weeks. I would like to have people that reported serp losses yesterday that have returned to normal today to look at the caffeine data center and see if these are the serps they were seeing. http://www2.sandbox.google.com/
I am waiting for another mojor serp Update When i got PR0 - rank 3 but now i get PR4 - rank 100... It should be another mojor serp, I think
Yes I had my toolbar PR jump for a number of pages. I now have 5-10 new PR4 pages and 15-20 new PR3 pages. I have no idea how though, I haven't been doing any link building. One page with PR4 has no backlinks for it as it's a support app that I built for customers and don't even need it indexed in Google so never linked to it. Somehow the big G found it and gave it Pr4. Go figure?!?
Big drop to me :-( From page 1 of Google for very good keyword to nowhere to be found. From 200 per hour visitor to less than 20 per visitor. And it happened yesterday and no sign of the pages going to where they used to be. I never done any blackhat. Plus I found new websites are there now.
Yah for me also the PR went up 1 step but dropped out of SERPS from Page 1... can somebody explain whether its for short term or ever lasting ... 0 traffic from google..... Oh my goodnes... I hope for high SERP after PR gain, but happened just opposite....
Yes, there's an update but I think it's not as big as you expect. Not to serious with this because it's only a light update.
Yes, i too have noticed the same thing. For some keywords my blog was coming on 2nd or 3rd page but now its gone far away. Also, for most of the web hosting term i have used are showing all the commercial sites first.
It has been fluctuating over the past few weeks, my rankings changing all the time, will it even stop?
