    Hey folks,

I'm planning on starting a wordpress/copywriting campaign to maximise my SEO efforts for my site.

    Here's my question:

    Is it better to:

    a. Host the blog entirely on my site, e.g www.mysite.com/blog

    b. A blog with ~ 10 articles with its own high volume, low competition URL with links to my site.

    c. A myblog.wordpress.com blog with links to my site.

Obviously b and c will have the benefit of inbound links....

    any opinions???

    Thanks!

Maintaining multiple sites is a drain on resources. I prefer a single really good site over multiple satellite sites personally. You aren't going to get much link juice out of a separate site unless you take time to build links to it, and that time would be just as well spent building links to your main site.

Further, there is no guarantee that visitors to the satellites will click through to your main site. More likelihood of getting them to explore the main site than getting them to click through from off-site.

    YMMV

If you can spare the money for hosting, I would go with b. Otherwise I would go for option c.

I suggest hosting your own blog. You can go to GoDaddy and get a good seasoned domain in the auctions. Get one with Google PR already and ensure that some of the pages from the site are indexed on Google. If you need help just let me know I am here to help :D!

I think a is better, i can increase your indexed page in google, and you can point the link to your site home page too!

I have to agree w/ Willy. If you can't get 1 site to rank well... working on multiple sites is only going to multiply the time and effort required... You're better off focusing on one site until its a success before moving on to others.

Hmmm, all good points, and great food for thought.

I'm going to take your advice and attach a WordPress blog to my site and work on that.

Btw, I'm new on this forum, but am really impressed with the participation.

I've been using the young entrepreneurs forum for the last year and it's really sloooow and sparse with the responses. Glad I've discovered this one now!
