Big Losses in BackLinks?

yeah definitely don't every close a forum account- if anything just leave it there and don't use it every link makes a difference- I did this once and dropped a couple pages also in serps

 

Weak backlinks usually don’t last.

If you had 1200 of them most of them were probably worthless.

I have got 1000 weak backlinks before and watched them all fade away in a few months and only the quality ones were left.

Weak backlinks = waste of time.

 

Another thing that happened to me is I got a blog comment from a site that put the "last comments" on the right side of the page for EVERY ONE of his hundreds of pages...so wow...got hundreds of backlinks instantly...but then in a few weeks...i dropped a couple of backlinks when i wasnt on every page any more...

wonder if that also hurts your rankings w/ Google...Google is soooo strict!

 

Are you guys really sure that you guys can read english?

I said that ALL THE SITES in my niche had a huge Backlink drop...
Not only my site! All of the sites!

And each one has different backlinks...one from articles, other from sites from same network, other from link exchange, other from blablabla...

So everyone in my niche is doing bad link building practices?
The major one (who has a huge drop from 150+ to less than 50 backlinks right now) is in top 2k of alexa ranking

 

I've noticed a big drop too could be that Google are tightening up on what counts as a backlink

 

I think this is a lot of it.

People have been buying 500-1000 backlinks for under $10. So it is not a good way to judge a websites worth anymore.

I’m sure google is starting to see a lot of these cheap backlinks as a worthless way to give weight.

Anyone with any kind of site and $7. can get 1000 backlinks so it makes them worthless or worth very little.

The good backlinks are harder to get and they stay in Google.

 

I have got up interms google links from 1 to 5.

And my keyword's SERP has gone up, i read in a article that link from a article has more value than link from footer or guestbook.

A good way of getting more backlinks which in turn will get you higher pagerank is by using a tool i found 4 months back.

What this tool does is finds all the related sites which have high pagerank with your keywords so you can post a comment with your website link in the message. It does what it says basically, post around 5-10 blogs,forums, etc each day on a few specific keyworks for about a month or so you will see an increase in backlinks and over time pagerank, but google is taking its time with pagerank so don't worry about pagerank it will come.

If your using Yahoo to check back links, it might be just a glitch I've lost about half my links in one day only to find them there the next. If your using google, well my friend... they are gone D: or cloaked as someone said. A few months back I lost a lot links from google and they never came back. The only good news is that I ddin't lose any SERP. Is your SERP ok?
