Rank factoring is based on approximately 100+ factors. Page rank is still one of them, it is just at the bottom of the list.

No one said Google stopped using page rank. Well except for a few folks around here.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

I think you confused yourself with the announcement that they are no longer putting the page rank data in webmasters tools. PR is still in use but it's just one of the matrix that they use to determine site ranking.

They just dont want webmsters to become as obsessed with it as they have been.

Webmasters tried to hijack PR as a tool to convince people of certain things.

Google are just politely saying dont do that, without actually appearing like they are.

I think google will never stop using page rank for ranking. They have built fundamental over the Page Rank. That is not true.

    Well...

PR is just one factor in thousands of factor that are in use to rank a site....

There is no such official communication of such thing that they are not using it....

    Google never said this...!

Really, why the sudden changes? and how does it affects the rankings of those who have good PR rankings? Be sure to check this out if it's true. And last question, is this a part of their changing algorithm and replacing it with Google Caffeine?

this is not true. google is still using PR. these are all just hearsay. probably to keep competitors out of the picture since almost all people now are aiming to use PR for their websites
