    Hello,
There are many many php tutorials http://www.google.com/#q=php+tutorial&hl=en&gl=us

Think in a small project, for example a form to add a name, lastname, etc, try to crate a database, etc et, then continue with a medium project.

    Best regards,
    Jakomo

Learning programming is not all that simple, you should learn how things are done and should work. If you are an SEO for sure you can find great things about PHP in search engines. However it's important that you have to know what you are learning. Try starting with sitepoint.com and w3schools.com . they are very reliable for starters. Then think about your requirement or what you want to do then start developing per phase.

in a nutshell, you should learn, html, css, javascript, and then php, then xml. my 2 cents.

I agree but he should learn how to use "php.net" website at the same time. Since that is the best reference manual on how to use php functions, that´s posted online.

Does not matter how long you have coded a language, you still need to be able to use a reference manual, since you can´t have everything in your head.

Allso a nice Development studio doesn´t hurt when you want to learn, personally i use Zend but that one costs a bit.
