The best site in the world in its field www.sportingstreams.com was taken to court by Sky and UEFA and forced to close down, that has now set a president and this season will be even worse:

I disagree, I expect you are trying to trash the thread.

The website you named is unlikely to have been the best in it's field as it did not rank in Google for the main related keywords. Plus, those numbers quoted in the document may have been purely speculative. I know of other stream websites which claim to have 20k+ members, but they don't.

Furthermore, I find it highly unlikely they would have got as far as court, as to my knowledge no website in this field has. They may have been sent a cease and desist order for a dubious "copyright" infringement, i.e. using Champions League logos, music etc. it.

Where Sky themselves took legal action was due to some stupid webmasters choosing to use their trademarked name "Sky" in their urls, indicating you could watch the Sky service for free or at a vastly reduced price via internet streams - which you cannot.

There is also the issue of whether the website's in question are actually streaming the matches themselves, or providing direct links to streams. My site does neither, it simply provides a list of sources where streams for matches may be available. This is probably why I have been left alone despite being the number one ranked website in this particular field.

This is not a "cut and dried" issue and there is no legislation in place at present to prevent live football streams being broadcast in the UK or elsewhere and this has started a panic among the Premier League because they are not making money from these foreign streams which are freely available to anyone who has an internet connection.
