Are buying backlinks worth it?

Has anyone bought back links? Is it worth it? I personally have not but it is so time consuming to do I wonder if anyone has any success in actually purchasing links?

Sometimes placing a really good targeted post/page on someone else's website is great for affiliating, but not much else, in my opinion.

Almost all the larger eCommerce stores and millions of sites buy links. Buying high quality (mostly expensive) relevant links can and will rank your site better than any other type of SEO technique. It is all about how much $$ you got to spend.

I go for a mix of high quality and lot of low quality and it works very well.

Since there are lot of free ways of getting quality links, I dont think buying is worth for money.

I personally wouldn't purchase any back-links. I would try another method of getting quality link backs.

I would recommend buying some backlinks and trying it out, it worked for me one time but the last time I tried it it didn't work as well.

The question is...would you like to rank top faster? then buying can solve it. There're free ways too, the difference is that it'll taker longer

    Yes and No!
Yes- if you are buying a blog post from a high pr site that is relevant to your niche/site/ that is permanent or as permanent as can be then the next question is how much does it cost? Like a hamburger, is it worth .99 cents or $12.99. Yes it is worth it at .99, while at $12.99, not so much. blogs and webmasters are free to value their links at whatever they desire, sometimes it is worth it, often not.
Next is is site wide or one page or somewhere in between? How many outbound links does the blog or site have?

There are links that you pay for monthly and they have a value but not as much as a permanent link as the minute or rather month you stop paying the link disappears. A lot like the feeling you get from crack. The minute you stop using you need to buy more. Use these sparingly if at all.

If you are in an extremely competitive market the question is not is it worht it rather how much money you can beg, borrow and steal to get enough links to be competitive. In other words, what choice do you have. In these markets all the blather you read on here about getting free links is folly as you will be as old as Grandma Moses before you get anywhere doing it manually. Sorry to say, but very true. It is like taking a knife to a gunfight.

I'd rather buy custom written articles with backlinks in them.

I don't buy backlinks, I hire people to do the hardworks for me.
I write a couple of articles a week and I let my guys to submit
them on article directories manually and bookmark them on
    some reputable bookmarking sites.

Much better than buying backlinks coz it's a long tern solutions.

My advice is to buy them very stealtily... Competitors are crazy about reporting paid links. It can murder your results in the SERPS. :)

I am facing a similar decision. Would much rather be focussing my time on revenue generating activities rather than link building. Think I may look into buying some links
