Concentrate on 1 site or many

    Hello

I was just looking for a little advise.

I currently have in development 2 websites and 1 blog each concentrating on different niches.

Would it be more profitable in the long run to concentrate on these sites or to work a little less on them but work on say another 5 blogs. This meaning I am working on more websites based on different niches and hopefully in turn making more money

    What are you suggestions?

    Thank You

I can only relate my own experience. I built a network of about 30 sites, and found that the sites that showed the most potential (2 or 3) , ended up getting most of my attention, so the remaining 27 sites ended up neglected until they became fairly useless and contributed nothing to the bottom line. It is really hard to maintain 30 sites and keep the content fresh and keep the traffic up to them.

It's true of anything in life. The more you specialize and work towards one thing the more successful you will be. Do you want a decent brain surgeon and a decent lung doctor performing brain surgery on you, or do you want the great brain surgeon that only performs brain surgery? The point is, be the best at whatever you are doing, otherwise you will be dividing your efforts and the potential for exponential growth is severely limited.

Lot of people dont like to put their eggs on same basket. A good businessman would never do that.

Its always good idea spreading the territory within our expertise.

On what you focus, it grows. It really doesn't matter on what experiences you have, or goals you have in mind, it matter on how much you are focused on it.

This question seems to be asked a lot. In my opinion, you should focus on a smaller number. A larger number is too hard to maintain by yourself.

    Hello,
Do not put their eggs on same basket :) Try on different niches as you know, but not too many websites, try to create 3 great websites and a couple of small websites :)

It depends. But if you can manage one successfully,it's not necessary for you to devote yourself on such many
websites.Sometimes, the number is not important.Only the quality matters.

If you're just starting out, I would recommend making 3 or 4 sites. You'll find that 1 or 2 of them are more successful than the others, at which point you can abandon the sites that haven't done so well and focus more on those that have. I wouldn't worry about "putting all of your eggs in one basket", because rarely does an entire niche collapse. You will want to diversify your advertisers though, so make sure your main site doesn't make all its revenue from one affiliate program.

I have many websites but I focus in 2 of them. It's very hard to keep many websites updated.

Better to start with one and obtain good experience and confidence to replicate the same later on. :)

I have started with one, get some experience. Then started another, then bought existing one and so on. But first I focused on the one. Focusing on 30 would have been a mistake I suppose.

I think you should build 1 site to start with get that going (make sure it is something you are interested in)

Then build a forum which can be linked to from that site.

Then build a directory which is also associated with both the website and the forum.

Interlink them and I am quite sure you will be successful.

That's how I would do it if I had to start again.

The better way is to start with one or two webs or products, after, you can start with more webs.

    I chose both options

    1) I have one site that is my big earner of which I must dedicate a lot of time to.
    2) I have a portfolio of 30-40 minisites that take no time at all to manage, I try to launch a new one every few days.

what you need is to focus on 1 or 2 of the sites and give all you got to it.if you many to manage, you won't really make progress.

I build one site, work on it until I get it moving on autopilot, then I move on to another one. Whatever works for you...

Its better to have a plan and stick to it. Allocate a time and effort for one site and then turn into another site and do it in that manner.

    Thank you!

unless you have a team who can support multiple sites, its always a good idea to focus on not more than 2-3 at a time.

My advice would be to concentrate on ONE, i have 4 sites but i clearly understand that am not working for any one effectively so im thinking of to short it down to 2 or 1.
