You can also run scripts inside of wordpress, but not in blogger. This can make a huge difference depending on what you are doing.

I believe the poster is thinking wordpress.com, not the regular wordpress software. And no you can't run scripts at wordpress.com. You can though with the regular wordpress software and your own paid hosting.

Wordpress for self hosted. Blogger for blogspot.com

Thats the basic verdict. You can check my post. I am not spammin. I don't monetize that site.

well, I prefer using wordpress because it has smaller size of page compared to blog made with blogspot. But I think it is not wise to compare blogspot which is totally free, with wordpress where you have to buy domain name and web hosting.

you can't compare blogspot with wordpress. wordpress having that many plugin and that many config but having monotone interface. blogspot its more simplify but having better interface. i think wordpress for expert users and blogspot for beginer users or teenager. blogspot or wordpress will give you same effort. the diffrent its your way to reach it.

if you don't want to pay to learn blogging and programming as well i recommend blogger, but if you something looks more profesional, try wordpress.com first and then buy own domain and hosting for more sophisticated blogging atmosphere...

Both are good. Blogspot though is easier to adapt when you have just started. One can then switch to wordpress when you get a hold.
