MMA. Boxing is only able to put on solid top notch shows every 2-3 months anymore.

    MMA definitely.
why? because it "gives" more exciting fights and people pay more to see mma fights

agreed here. Plus the breadth of fighters is tremendous in comparison. There are a large number of events that never make it past a local arena all around the country.

MMA fighters are more rounded being able to do thai boxing and ground work such as brazilian ju-jitsu.

but i find the UFC pretty boring constantly sitting on the ground doing nothing some fights are.

MMA is becoming increasingly popular, there has been an explosion in interest of the sport.

Boxing will always be popular, but I think in terms of the future, MMA will be bigger than Boxing.

And another comment, a bit out of the box, but consider sports that have had a female counterpart. Boxing tried, and yes there are a few boxers out there that make a living, but Women's MMA is up and coming much sooner than it ever did for boxing. It is getting a following and still has a 75%/25% (male/female) watch ratio.

The sport has every aspect of lasting. Oh and to mention that Don King is now thinking of promoting MMA??? Don follows the money...
