THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A " NEW PR5 WEB DIRECTORY"

All this guy has done is taken an old domain that had some PR and slapped a copy of phpld and a free template on it. These people are nothing more than unethical link peddlers trying to scam people into buying links on their directory. The PR he has will be gone very soon.

Avoid directories like this one like the plague!

PS: This guy has been putting up directories on several old domains with PR. Check out: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1548842 and http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1517196 . This guy is scandalous.

Theres more adsense then categories. Do some research into making a Quality Directory that provides a service of some sort. It will increase your longevity

But there is nothing wrong with submitting free link in this directory. Few links will probably keep on pointing to it from good old days of this domain.

I've often wondered how much value such a link would ever have. Before suggesting that a link is a link, consider how much value you would give to an link from a site that has unrelated links pointing to it if you were responsible for providing relevant search results.

Submitting for free is one thing.

But paying this person money is absolutely ridiculous.

Sure this domain name is PR5 right now, but the site did not receive a PR5 ranking from Google based on the current, live directory that is running on this domain name. So when Google updates the pagerank for the domain and realizes that the content and backlinks are not worth a PR5 (and they will) the domain name will be most likely a PR zero.

The bottom line is that the domain name/website did not earn a PR5 as a directory, so it will not last.

We will have to wait and see, but spending any money is obviously a gamble.
