does anyone here have good rankings and does receive traffic from AskJeeves. I just saw their new commercials on TV and was wondering if they actually benefit some of us. Mike
AskJeeves has been doing alot of tv advertising in the uk, i think i might start making my site aj friendly
They hit me for 8k plus views on numerous sites last month. Still waiting to show up in their index. Domains don't even list.
Ask Jeeves frames web pages from their SERPs. It's hard to know exactly how much traffic their SERPs are really driving to a site AFAIK.
>does anyone here have good rankings and does receive traffic from AskJeeves. FWIW, I'm on page one for my main KW (city + KW) and get around 1.5% of my SE traffic from AJ.
Yeh I saw them, I cannot see anyone clicking on the organic results unless it is for a keyterm that noone pays for
Ask ranks about number 23 (out of the 30 top referral sites) with around 680 referrals on one of our busier sites. So I would have to say "yes". We do see quite a bit from them. This particular site saw 44,452 requests for our main keyword which ranks 1 in just about every SE. Time period: from July 04 to present date. So if you put this into perspective, 680 from Ask out of 44,452 (this does not include all search times btw). I've got 52,579 in from Google over the same time period, with MSN lagging in around 15,000.
Last week, 0.05% of our search engine referrals were AJ - or 34 visits. It'd be nice if they delivered some more traffic. How does one optimise for Ask?
That was going to be my next question. The results look familiar but not sure what search engine or directory I have seen them at before.
When I optomized for inktomi, it worked well for AJ. I have great rankings and get about 1 referral a day. I would never concentrate on them, but if you are doing a decent amount of on-page SEO and off page SEO, they will follow the others. They return a lot of sponsored links though, on top of their listings - so even a number 1 is like a #5.
I just heard that AskJeeves was bought by Match.com, so there may be changes laying ahead. Good or bad? Couldn't get worse could it?
Just a little info. I saw a very nice commercial adviertising ask jeeves the other night. I liked it and thought it was nice. It even was a little more appealing than the msn commercials I have seen.

Jeeves ranks around 7th on my list...(1%) but they are number one on my robot list as well (by far)... wonder where they are hiding all my content... ;-)
