Google Purging AdSense Accounts?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by Surf_Dude, Mar 24, 2005.

I couldn't help but notice that there is a lot of screaming about AdSense account termination going on in other forums today. From what is being reported, it looks like the big G is finally cracking down. Scraper sites and no content sites seem to be hit the hardest.

Ahhh. Looks like, today anyway, a white-hat is a definite virtue.
After all, Google has warned us repeatedly, but over time, became the boy who cried "Wolf" once too often.

With the competition about to strike, they had to do something to maintain their advertiser base. I think that many advertisers would jump to Yahoo in a heartbeat, for all the reasons that have been discussed - payout, disclosure, better crud control, 302 problem, etc.

Sooooo, did YOU get banned today?

Google has been reading this forum and can see what a group of numbskulls they have in their program.

I have been telling these guys to let them do their own policing of their program because if they want to they can weed out the sorry publishers in a hurry.

Well they sent out snail mail out to adwords users offering them $25 credit if they sign up for an adsense accounts. They must be looking for a higher class of publishers

I got the "invalid clicks" email from AdSense last night after over a year in the program. I am sure they will not miss me...

Well, it is an opportunity to look at other programs out there - see ya Google!

Good... hopefully they *do* knock out all the sites that shouldn't be in it (people clicking their own ads, sites setup just to push AdSense, etc.). Will be better for everyone.

That is really interesting...wonder why snail mail. I totally agree that AW advertisers would make the most honest AS publishers.

Here's a concept instead of banning adsense cheaters give them the option to become an AW advertiser for min of 3 months @ XXX per day or be banned. :D

About time as they seem to let anyone in and I know we all want to earn some money but at the end of the day adverts cost someone money and the amount of AdSense sites is amazing

    Less sites better price :p

Oh I see, pay google a fee to look the other way while cheating their AW customers? That sould be good for the company. :/

Actually my comment was facetious, kind of like your choice of how you wish to accept your sentencing...

    A) Rehab (Learn how AW works)
    B) Accept your lifetime ban from The AdSense program

Just a joke, sorry if you took me seriously :)

I'm glad they are doing it. It makes adwords more worth it for advertisers and hopefully it will alleviate some of the spam we all get in our search engine results.

We have members here finding many sites in violation of Google TOS, so Google can find them just as easy by doing a simple search on Yahoo :p :p :p

I, for one, am glad to hear the spam sites are being removed. Sounds like G is actually doing something right for a recent change.

That is right man, you can not have bots and your friends clicking on ads either or you will get caught and banned.

I think this house cleaning has been a long time coming. The result will be happy AW advertisers...Not sure about GOOD AS publishers. It seems that AS payout rates are changing like dirty underwear, so I'm not sure how this will impact the AS publisher.
