    Hey DP-ers

I'm planning to setup a search engine optimization company in singapore and I'm struck at what name to register for the company name.

Would like to suggest some name and the winner will get $50 buck for the name!
    Any name suggestion are welcome

    Thanks!

P.S. I hope I have posted in the correct category...

Nothing is wrong in asking for a company name.

    I can suggest OptimaX.

    Good luck.

Yeah, if one can't even name their company there are far deeper issues at hand...like a fundamental lack of vision and direction perhaps?

Starting a business out on a foundation of spec work is an even more sinister sign.

it's not about vision. the problem is that he shouldn't invest into dp forum members to suggest his company name but do a quality research to get people opinions with a help of a research company.

I hope he has $1000s of dollars to pay for that research. It may not be practical for him to "buy a name". I can guarantee that while that may be a good route to take that is not the only route.

I would in venture to say you could be equally successful with a name you got off of someone from a forum as you could with a research compny.

There are no rules that you have to get your company name this way.

I mean seriously look at Google, Yahoo, Twitter. What in the world do those name mean anyway.

Spec work sucks. It devalues creative work, and almost always results in an inferior product.

What does anyone here know about winsonyeung, his values, ethics, goals and aspirations, what he wants for and from his company (beyond it is one of a million others doing "SEO" - whatever that might mean "to him")?

How can one do anything but guess an appropriate name? He would do as well to sit down with a thesaurus as he would to post here. Shucks, if he did that he might even have a sense of ownership.

Frankly, the advice here to do keyword research is horrible. Who would name their company based solely on keywords. A successful company name is brandable.

Finally, if the guy doesn't have the creativity to name his own company, where in God's name is he going to find the creativity to do quality SEO work?

Crude, rotten, atrociously pitiful - there's the basis for a name for this startup - CRAP SEO, Inc.

Putting SEO in the name isn't necessary in my opinion and a bit redundant. Something brandable is much nicer. Why not something like 'Findablez' and the slogan can be like 'You found us - we'll make sure others find you'
