Is Blog Commenting a Good Strategy to Earn Traffic?

You can get some very targeted traffic with blog commenting.

I don't usually aim for traffic when I go out and do blog commenting. Most of the time I'm just trying to gain backlinks from sites with more visitors and higher PR than me, which still helps out a lot in the end. Although every once in a while I'll be the first or second comment on a very popular article, and some of the traffic from the article will click on my name and end up at my site.

 

I think what you are referring to might be "Do Follow" links. I think (not positive so don't beat me up here) that do follow links are the best links to post. Most blogs nowadays have these. These are picked up by google just like all of the rest of them but I think they are read differently and help your site somehow. I read about this this morning. There was a post about the top 10 do follow blogs with the highest alexa ranking. They were hammering out the pros and cons of do follow links.

Traffic can be increased by many ways, I also agree with your comment. In dofollow blog commenting, we must target to increase the number of backlinks.

I feel that blog commenting is the best way to earn traffic. Its cool you know. Its gets you easy back links. Gets you introduced with new bloggers. this can be surely helpful when you start a new blog and promote it

Do you mean your sites didn't get traffic?

 

If you're commenting on a do follow blog then you can get backlinks but if you are commenting to a no follow blog, the only thing you'll get is traffic. For me, blog commenting is a great way also to learn new things through the different blogs. We should all leave valuable comments for a valuable post and not spam and for the fact that we want to get backlinks and traffic.

 

If your comments support or answer the original blog post, or move the thread forward in some way, then I would say yes, blog commenting is certainly a good way to promote your blog - both in terms of new visitors now and higher PR later....

We could not get much more traffic thru blog comments, but if the blog comment is do-follow means, it will useful for you search engine ranking.

 

The right way is simply having something unique to add to the conversation, so the readership can see you know what you are talking about and are more likely to visit your site
