i am on first page on google for a keyword that is searched about 823,000 times per month (atleast that is what adwords keyword search tool said) and im getting 7 visits from it daily from that keyword. Whats wrong?
may be your content is not good so try to update your content and try to find out best keywords & target one more thing try to Social media optimization it's give instant traffic!!!
make your website content more better and also do some social media optimization , social book marking also.
Yes, Google Adwords Keyword Tool says it gets 823,000 searches with the "broad" settings match; trying setting the match to "Exact" and see the actual monthly searches for the exact keyword you type in. You can set this after you search the specific keyword, this located to the right of "Global Monthly Search Volume" lettering.
I agree. "exact match" might show you an entirely different picture. If the keyword really does get 800K+ searches - another thing to look would be your description - When you see your listing in google, does it say something that would make a visitor think they'll be able to get the information they're looking for? Do you get the impression the site is a quality site? First impressions count, make sure yours is a good one.
Its something that I look at closely when I'm constructing a page. Also in terms of titles I think that SEO's can over emphasise the rankings and ignore the CTR.
Did you check the count of the same keyword in Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery. I am 100% sure it will be very less from what google kw tool shows. This is ONLY because Google tool is not very accurate for estimating the traffic generation. Try it out and let me know!
It must be to do with the broad search option. I have just discovered this to my distress after having what i thought were some very high demand low competition keywords from Google KT. Changed to exact search and the numbers have gone right down. Ill now have to change ALL my sites. It would explain why even though top of Google - my sites only get about 20-30 visits a day. I think many people may be suffering the same fate and I only realised this after stumbling across this forum.
Try write your Meta Description which will tempt user to click your link. Although easier said then done.
Are you sure you're ranked on the first page? Make sure you're logged out of your Google acct and your browser is restarted.
The traffic probably will increase as your site/domain will get more & more mature and all other factors remains the same.
we were ranked 7th on first page of yahoo for a common phrase, yet it brought like 1 or 2 clicks a day ... i wasn't sure why either ...
thats adword ranking not for free visitors ranking if you don't believe the you can use adword for this keyword and you will understand different about keywords traffics. it is paid traffics but you are using free ranking. It will show different. no problem, choose another keywords and get ranking so you will get traffics.
When using the Adwords keyword tool, always change the match type dropdown to EXACT. You'll get much more accurate numbers. Also, just being on page 1 does not guarantee significant traffic. If your URL is not in the top 5 positions, you'll get very few. The vast majority of clicks occur for those URLs in position 1-3... 4&5 still get a decent amount... but below that clicks drop off VERY fast.
