    Hi DP Members,

I would use certain criteria to identify the links quality with the following methods. They are.

    1. Google Page Rank
    2. Back links
    3. When crawl the particular page
    4. Content Copying

Is there any alternative method to identify the quality links, if the way please provide it. I will very helpful for us.

Here are some of the criteria I use, there are other factors I consider but I will keep it brief for now:

    - Be careful with Pagerank - it's not always a reliable indicator of a good site.
    - Backlinks - check the quality of the backlinks to the site as well as the number of backlinks
    - Does the site rank for any important keywords?
    - If there are other sites with the same content, it's OK provided that site shows up first in the SERPs.
    - Visual check - does this site look like it's been built for repeat visitors or does it look like a links farm?

some other things that should be checked-
    >>sites theme should be related to yours
    >>the number of outgoing links on the page where you get your link. if there are too many links on that page then you will not benefit even if the page has PR
    >>the link is a nofollow link or a follow link
    >>link is a direct link and not a redirect or dynamic link

First you should avoid copy content, secondly quality content is an important factor not quantity, finally these quality links from niche social bookmarking, articles, social media sites, directories, blogs and forums through targeted keywords.

As a frequent link buyer I come across a lot of cons by sellers. I've put some together in this thread for those of you who are interested.

There are many important metrics. Inbound links to the page, link popularity of the domain, title of the page, anchor text used on your link, and surrounding text (is is related?), age of the page, age of the domain, other outbound links on page. You'll notice I haven't mentioned PageRank. That's because it's one of the poorest indicators of page strength. If you want to know if a page has link benefit, check to see if it ranks (lift some text from on the page and search for it on Google).
