    Hello,

    I have just registered a domain and i am gonna use Wp to make a website out of it...

    Wordpress 2.9 is planned to be released on 30th of this month.

    I am so confused now..Should i set up my site with WP.2.8.x or wait till 2.9 gets released ?

    Need your advice on it...:)

    Do what you think is best. WordPress has made the process of upgrading about as easy as changing a light bulb or turning on a TV with a remote control.

    If it was difficult then i would wait, but it's easy so you might aswell go ahead and set it up now.

    Plus because you will upgrade between recent versions you should have no problems.

    Start now, why lose precious indexing & backlinking time? Every single Wordpress release has been a seamless upgrade, there's never been anything to worry about with it.

    install and do experiments :p

    u can simply do a fresh installation and restore posts by xml backup or upgrade to 2.9 without problem

    Version of WP is far less important than getting a site up that is relevant and well-linked. Stick with 2.8.4 and you can upgrade at any later time pretty easily. Besides, you'll want to avoid the brain damage that will be 2.9.0 and wait for .1 or .2. :)

    Start with 2.8.4 currently.

    And wait for a few days before upgrading to 2.9 unless there is a critical security flaw that needs to be patched. New versions tend to be buggy for a while, even after they do all the testing prior to it.

    As people here have already mentioned, upgrading is a piece of cake with Wordpress.
