Hey I'm new to affiliate advertising and I was just wondering how many hops it usually takes to get you a sale on average. Right now I'm only averaging around 4 hops a day :( my site is still new so hopefully it will go up but I haven't made any sales yet... it would be good to have some idea of roughly how many hops I will need to make a sale.

Some of my sponsors convert at 1 in 50, some at 1 in 800. Focus on getting more volume. Then you have some real numbers to work with. Everything in CPA is about ratios. - x clicks at y per click to result in z sales that pay $w. if x*y > z*w then you have a winning combination.

Getting traffic is a pain so I prefer offers that convert 1 in 30 or so. But that is a really good ratio. 1:100 is not uncommon.
