Advice for building an Opt in list

I have a site that gets 50-100 uniques a day. I would like to set a way to capture the emails of my vistors by offering a free download.

Can anyone recommend a good program to use?

Looking for one that gathers emails & is easy to send out follow emails.

Is there one that will set up a pop up window that asks if they really want to leave the site. I know those are annoying, but I'd like to see if that works.

    Thanks in advance!

Many people say that Aweber is the best. But it's not free.

I recommend you to use MailChimp because it's professional and in the same time is free for the first 500 subscribers (there is also a limited amont of emails you can send as a free member). Then see what happens. If you like the result you can go for a paid membership at MailChimp or Aweber or somewhere else.

Mailchimp works well...however they do have some restrictions on the types of products which your site sells.

Make sure you read what they say, else they will suspend your account, or possibly bar you, which isn't good and happened to a friend of mine.

iContact or Aweber. Do a search for "auto-responders" and see if there are others that you would like better. Maybe there are some free ones. Maybe check out Chimpmail as suggested.

Aweber is one of the best in my opinion. They have a 30 days trial for $1.

you may also start with a free mail software like POMMO as you don't have a high traffic...

I've tried many, and AWeber is my favorite. I've used it for many years.

A mentor of mine built a list of 50,000 subscribers in less then a month in the making money niche as part of a case study..

First, he used PPC to get people to his website, where he gave away some info for free. There was really no prodcut. But he would get a ton of subscribers a day.

After he got about 10,000 he started to "adswap" with other people in the making money niche, all along using PPC.

At the end of the month he paid almost $20,000 but at the same time as a result he has built a list of 50k people. I'm pretty sure he has made that money back 10 fold by now.

Just another way to go about it!

In most cases, paid services as good because it will somehow assure you of satisfaction.. Like aweber, many had been using it although it is paid. But just in case you are still on the adjustment period, you may try the free service to test everything :)

I wasted time, energy, and money when I first started online by choosing not to use a paid service. Had I known what I know now I would have saved myself the headaches and just paid for Aweber to begin with.
