is google analytics the best for tracking your site's statistics?

is there another alternative to google analytics?

 

I wouldn't say that google analytics is the best. First of all it's javascript.. so it wont register about 5-20% of your visitors. But it is the best tool for newbies and people that don't want to pay for a better solution. But if you are.. google "have a mint". I've heard good things about them.

so analytics is not the best in your opinion ! not that accurate ! i was wondering why awstats showing more visitors than analytics. so anyone else here recommend awstats instead of google analytics?

 

I'm not a google genius, but I've noticed what I felt to be very accurate tracking information. Every single one of my transactions are logged, the wealth of information that is analytics is AMAZING!!!! I constantly am surprised that they dont charge for this service.

I had awstats installed before and it gave me some information, but I didnt get the same type of picture I get with google.

I have an ecommerce site and thankfully I installed this app years ago and the data I have collected is extremely useful.

I know how much I made via what keywords, paid vs unpaid, so on and so on. I recommend using it, for what it's worth.

 

awstats is good, webalizer, that sort of thing.all seem to be fine

 

There are many ways to corroborate your tracking. Not to mention that some other tools give you a way to see your data in ways that you can't otherwise with google. Rather than asking about which tools are better, try some for yourself and form an opinion and share your results here.

IMO google analytics is the best analytics tool. It has everything you need.

 

AWSTATS is good and all but it isn't 'In The Scene' so to speak. Google Analytics has info an all the newest search engines and can tell if they visit, can track organic traffic and alot more. I would have to say its the best.

 

I think google analytics is pretty awsome for being free to use. Alexa is nice as well i dont think you will find anything totally 100% accurate especially for free!

Well, it depends on what reports you would need to make better decisions related to your site.
Something AWstats give, which GA can't , its you who have to compare both based on your need and finalize which you should rely for what.

 

We like statcounter dot com.
It just seems nice and easy to use, and shows you more information on one screen than GA does.

 

Yes, no doubt it offers a lot of web statistics. apart from that, some people prefer to use awstats . Certainly its your own choice but GA is recommended

 

What more do you expect any other tool to offer than this GA?
