I would say it depends on your niche... and if your visitors are regularly returning to your site.... if they are one off visitors, then use some sort of CPM advertiser, but if they are returning, then try your hand at affiliate marketing based on your niche

Much depends on your niche. But as you said, you aren't making any money from Adsense, go with CPA.

 

I used pure content to get 20,000 visitors per month . I did not use any other methods . i was at college those times and didn't have money to develop sites using paid methods .

Pure content , own words , and links from well known directories helped me . Since i used a fan site , a fan gave me the domain and another fan took care of the hosting .

Its currently down as one of the fans became bankrupt and closed the hosting account without intimating me .
