I have a VERY unique keyword and used to rank #1 on Google since the website has been open for 2 months. NOW, checking again today, the same unique keyword... someone else with the same word in its title is ranked higher. There is barely any content on that other website. Any suggestions? thanks
As Dan said. Keep adding information and links to stay at the top, otherwise someone will catch you. If the other site hasn't got much content maybe they have some great backlinks, or maybe it's just a temporary Google thing and you'll be back up there soon.
thanks for the advice. Its weird because we both have that word in our domain name. That site has ZERO content we have a GOOD amount. Their website looks like it was created by "Fischer Price - My First Website Playset" toys. the ONLY thing they have going for them is they have been around much longer. Didnt think that AGE would take google preference over content.
Age, age and more age. Your site is 2 months old. Google's started to implement live search, meaning that it reflects sites that have new content relevant to specific keywords climbing the rankings quickly and then dropping off just as quickly. Revise the page and add links. It'll take you 6 months to reach a number one rank.
Ranking drop/fluctuation is common for new sites. You need to build more quality links for your site to have a stable ranking and to outrank your competition. Patience is a virtue.
It is true that there is a fluctuation of keywords and best things you do is to continue with the link building process and add more content to your site or through your blogs
The suggestions to catch your previous position are: 1. Add more fresh unique content 2. Get more quality backlinks with the targeted keyword Wait one or two weeks.
Dont worry dude, it happens. update and add fresh content and build quality back links. All the best.
just go for quality back links and target your main keywords and try to change your content on interval basis because google like to crawl fresh content easily..
They are promoting their sites in a better way or else their on-page optimization is good and better than you.
algorithm continually changes, you will find you will probably work your way back, depends if you have been doing anything 'black-hat'
